She can't do a Russian Accent,she looks awful in fight scenes and after Avengers she looks less athletic and her faces changes too. Scarlett aside mcu Widow is a very boring character. I like Widow in the Books along with Hawkeye and Fury,but they all suck in the mcu.

anyway but as for this project we will have to see what direction is taken not by director but by the studios if they really want to make it closer to the comics then it will happen otherwise it will look like hilarious hitman agent 47 2015 film.

She uses some kind of neutral accent, which fits the character that's supposed to be some super-spy. It would be better to have a godd Russian accent, but this is a credible option.

Beg you pardon??? Black widow's fight scenes are way better than 99% of female lead fight scenes. You don't see her knocking down big guys with a punch, something that breaks immersion.

i wont say it depends or its a choice but id say its up to the mood of filmmakers if they want to make it a joke it then there is nothing we can do about it the film will turn out ultra cheesy but if they are choosing serious dark approach then hell yes this will be epic.

iron man 2 is super cheesy 1 is better but even i have to admit i saw iron man 2 only for scarlet but when avengers came she was ruined ,the fight scenes were still cheesy but hey its a movie.if want realistic fight then watch stevens seagal early 90s films.
but like i said earlier its too early we will have to see the trailer to see what this looks like,and this is still in production shooting then you have issues of reshoots,its not complete yet so until its completed i cant say.
Her fight scenes in Winter Captain were great, and besides that she had chemistry with Chris Evans. It's a pity that was the only movie that used them working as a couple.

The reality is she isn't sexy enough anymore. This is a comic book heroine that is supposed to be hot. Scarlet could have been considered for the part in her prime but she no longer fits the bill. Her fun bags have started to become sag bags and she just looks too much like a middle aged soccer mom. One can only hope they keep all of her clothes on as I've seen the photos of her in a swimsuit and while I do enjoy cheese, I like it on my pizza not the backside of a woman's legs.

Personally, I never liked Scarlet as BW. She can act fairly well in other roles but is terrible as BW. I disagree about her sexy level. I think that she was and is very attractive.
I would say that I am glad that she is leaving the role but truth is that I don't really care any more. I don't see myself watching any more Marvel other than Dr Strange 2. Infinity War was the peak and while I enjoyed many parts of Endgame, it was not great (like much of what Marvel puts out now). So cast who you want. Do 5 Cpt Marvel sequels in a row. I don't care.
Even during Iron Man 2 I don't think she was a good fit she looks nothing like comic widow. Her face is vey off. The only thing i can say is she looked athetic up til Avengers but after that she starts looking less athetic and her face start looking jacked up after each movie. in endgame she looks like hell. shareI agree; SJ might be another case of 'actress whose beliefs and personality don't match her character at all' but I find her quite fit and attractive and her characters' fights are believable and done well - i'm no martial arts expert but I can tell BW uses some kind of style involving using her body weight to flip and throw people around -- how someone might realistically effectively fight bigger, stronger opponents.

Obviously, it's still a 'Hollywood' fight. It's not real, but it feels real enough to keep immersion. She uses her weight and her legs. And that's credible enough: women lack strength in the upper body in comparison with men, but they can almost match them in lower body strength.

shareI agree with OP about BW and Hawkeye. Scarlett looks fantastic and her stunt double does some great fight scenes but her portrayal of BW is about as bland and uninteresting as it gets. The only character development that had any value with her at all was her calming relationship with Banner (which they kinda fucked up too). They miscast the role which is shocking given the general way that Marvel nailed casting in those early days. They went with Scar for the star-power and that is utterly all that they got.
I hope they do better with the new one in phase 20.
