A bit confused here.

So the whole Vice thing is basicly just that the people there are robots and thus gets reset next day so you can do whatever ?
I thought it was somthing more like you get strapped into a machine that lets you play out your fantasies or somthing.

Its not as bad as I had feared this movie. - Just got done watching Age of Ice and The Phoenix Project (Both movies are a complete waste of time so dont bother though the setting seems descent)

In order for you to do whatever you like in some place, VICE needs to be in virtual reality, so having to use real robots instead of just computers with AI software or some physical "brain" units seems... strange. Another strange thing is that these robots or cyborgs or whatever that are in the virtual world somehow get damaged in real life and if shot, the bullets travel to real world too.

This has to be the first movie where nothing makes any sense at all. It's clearly made with a big budget and it acts like it's "super cereal", but it makes no sense in any way. It's like some Japanese anime with nothing but nice art and fanservice that someone made into a big budget hollywood movie and somehow got Bruce Willis involved.

reply

I understood the movie as that it wasn't VR/Matrix, it was all real life.

reply

1. This movie does not have a big budget.
2. I guess you weren't paying much attention, Vice is a real place where rich people pay a lot of money to have their fantasies, some to rape and kill, others just to have sex, all these performed on artificial beings with memories deleted every night.
At one point the detective told the scumbag he arrested that the gun only worked on residents, so real people could only shoot artificials.
I don't see how people understood that it was all VR, the movie was extremely clear.

reply

Maybe you're mixing it up with previous Willis turd-a-rama 'surrogates', which had robots and avatars and all sorts of bs.

reply

The artificials were flesh & blood, but basically cloned so they are deemed expendable and not human.
If this ever happens for real we are doomed morally as a society.

reply

See Westworld. Not only doomed morally, just doomed.
