"It's a big gun! A Sig-Sauer with a compressor on it!" Huh?

Future cops get all the best stuff. "You got a flat tire? Here, use my sidearm to pump it back up!"

Despite that little "aw, shucks" moment, I wanted to hate this, but I couldn't. Jane turned in a decent enough performance (fortunately, because I dig his work), Ambyr Childers is cute, and Willis' presence was blandly inoffensive.

A tolerable spin on the "WestWorld/FutureWorld" flicks.

Unfortunately, the device was NOT a compressor - it is a compensator. They are designed to take the jets of gasses, which push the bullet down the barrel, and direct the jets of gasses upward to help prevent or lessen muzzle rise with fast shooting.

Hope that helps

That's probably true, but I just watched the movie and I heard him say "compressor". My first thought was he meant to say "suppressor" but obviously (from the sound effects) he didn't have one of those either.

Compensator makes the most sense, but it seems that would be an unusual addition to a handgun, outside of a sub-mini or something like that where rapid-fire and the need for muzzle rise compensation is more important.

Oh well... at this point I think we're all used to movies using weird "gun lingo" when they talk about "clips" or whatever else. Scriptwriters who've never taken a gun class, much less fired one, are going to recycle the same odd language they've heard from other know-nothings in other movies.

Just watched this (after reading this thread) and he definitely said compressor. Such a horrible flick!
