Average, but worth renting. Ingrid Garcia Jonsson was decent.

"Sweet Home" is a film made by our friends in Spain and it stars a Swedish actress named Ingrid Garcia Jonsson. Unlike a lot of the films I see nowadays that are supposed to be suspenseful or have elements of horror this one does. Ingrid plays a girlfriend of some stupid Spanish guy that she blindfolds and brings him to a run down old apartment building that has but one tenant for a surprise date. While enjoying themselves she hears a noise in the hallway and wouldn't you know it but there were killers there and they did the job on the person living there. And the bad guys chase the duo around the halls of the old building. Will they make it out alive? Will the killers do them in and the movie end very unHollywood-like? Some of this film is in Spanish and there are no subtitles, so if you don't understand the language then you are left out in the cold. But that doesn't matter. There are some scary moments, and the overall look lends to the suspense. Unlike films made here there were no guns at all. From anyone. So that was different to see. Overall, it was an average movie, and the violence was over the top in a couple instances, but if you are looking for a diversion on a "dark and stormy night" (which is when this takes place), then you could do worse than this. Rent it if this is your cup of tea. ** out of 4 stars.

2 out of 4 stars? Who rates a movie based on 1-4? This movie is a solid 2/5 or 4.5/10 on IMDb. If you like this type of movie it's watchable - fairly good acting but the characters make incredibly dumb decisions. I've seen a lot worse but I would never recommend this to anyone unless you don't have anything better to do (and I didn't). The girl was quite lovely and I was very surprised that she's from the same small town in Sweden as I am.
