I have noticed lots of copies of this movie out there but not one has subtitles for the foreign parts , how the hell are we supposed to know what they are saying???

Watched it on Netflix. There is a 3 minute conversation in the beginning of the movie when the girl talks to the elderly guy (likely about asking renting a room for her boyfriend's birthdate). Other than that, it's maybe 4-5 sentences in total that are in Spanish and it's mostly "puta madre" or "ayuda". You don't need subtitles for this movie at all but you might need some meth to stay awake and puff the magic dragon to avoid getting too upset about how incredibly stupid the characters are.

I watched it on Netflix and I had subtitles for all of the Spanish.

That conversation at the beginning of the film was regarding the old man being pushed out by the building owners. He was too stubborn to leave because he had lived there for decades. He was the last tenant, and she was supposed to help him out. I can't rember her job title, but that's why she initiAlly showed up at the place to see him. She told him that he can fight it, but he would probably still have to move. The building looked like crap becAuse all of the other tenants had left, and the owners weren't maintaining it. It was laying the groundwork for the most important part of the plot -why the bad guys were there in the first place. The intruders were hired to get rid of the old man (like they had done with the old woman in the beginning) since he was the last thing standing in the owner's way, but the protagonists showed up unexpectedly for their date, complicating their plans. She sneaked her boyfriend into the building because there were so many deserted units for her to use. He kept begging her not to spend money on him for his birthday, so that was her solution for a cheap ass celebration. Buy some candles and a sandwich to split, and make love on the floor. Why she couldn't do this at her own apartment where she already pays rent, I don't know. Maybe for a sense of adventure or a change of scenery?

I don't speak a lick of spanish, but that's what was happening based on the subs. Not a particarly intricate plot. It could have just as easily been random killers with no real motive. The Spanish dialogue really only ties in to explain why the man in boots killed the other intruder whose arm was stuck in the door. He and the other 2 guys had botched the job, and the man in boots was a ruthless, no-nonsense hitman.

Idk why some netflix users don't have subs for this movie. Are you in the US?

I'm glad I read the post just above mine because I almost gave up on this movie at the Spanish conversation in the beginning between the young female real estate broker and the older gentleman. I have my NetFlix set to English subtitles for everything, and there were no subtitles at all for that conversation. OK. I'll watch the rest now.

Not really important to know what they are saying..

It gives reason for the intruders to come. If not for that conversation, you never would have known why the real estate people had such a hard on for this old guy.

I've got two good posts in me and I just wrote my third...
