Host - wish they had gotten a true Chef with credentials

I would watch if they hadn't chosen Tori Spelling's husband to be the host. ?? As big as Canada is, they couldn't have found a true Chef, a food writer, or a restauranteur who wanted the job as host, and would've probably done it justice?
Instead they get an actor who hasn't been seen much on television lately, except for reruns of his latest reality show.

I just can't take 'Dean McDermott' serious as host.

OMG! The guy has no charisma whatsoever. It's like he's reading Q cards. And reading them badly. The weird thing is when he was on Guy and Rachael's whatever, he was pretty decent.

I agree 100% I cant watch it without thinking amout his actions. That and the items in the baskets are not familiar to me. I usually delete it with out watching the whole episode. Deleting the series from my DVR. I like Chopped but Chopped Canada is too much of a "good" thing. I also hate watching cooks drinking from bottles they will cook from and double dipping spoons. Ugh! Makes me sick to think I have eaten food from Chefs that think that is acceptable.

This! I'm not sure the point of it because I'm sure there were Canadian contestants at some point.

I know! all I can think of is they should have chosen Mary Jo Eustace to do it ....she did a cooking show once upon a time.

^ LOL, that would be great if they fired this guy and hired Mary Jo. Justice is served!
That, combined with the reviews on his pathetic latest reality show, with the very weird looking Tori Spelling would be what this guy gets!

He's certainly not my favorite guy for the job although to be fair he has trained at the Art Institute of California's Culinary School...I mean he does have some food background albeit minimal...
