i say gary busey. and think they should reveal he didn't really jump off that bridge. it was just a joke. like that...an intellectual clown would do!

That's good. Never thought of him. I was thinking Zach would play him. Or maybe even Brian Cox playing it real straight against Louie Anderson--it would too be a killer.

Cox and Busey aren't bad, but Zach Galifinakis looks much shorter than Louie Anderson even though both are listed to be 5'7". Louie looks as tall as Jay Leno who is 5'11", so father should be shorter than Zach. I think it would be funny to see some short, but bit masculine/charismatic female actor to play father. Carrie Fisher is short and was funny in The Big Bang Theory. Frances Fisher has deep voice so she could probably play father too. Kate Mulgrew has also a bit masculine jawline and voice, so I think she would be good choice.
