Refreshing!!!!! Will There Be A Part 2?

This was a great change of pace. It was nice to see Robin in this movie. When will the 2nd part if this come out?

I haven't watched it yet so no spoilers please. Now that that's out of the way how was the animation style? Also did the voices fit the characters? Btw I think a sequel will definitely depend on how much money this makes. DC hasn't really done many sequels to their animated movies but personally i'm always down for another one to watch!

I have the impression that this could be a back-door pilot for a new Justice League television series--one aimed at a younger demographic than JL/JLU.

The animation style is somewhere between Super Friends and Justice League: War, with designs influenced by the "New 52" DC Universe. I do wish that the character designs had been cleaner.

I don't like the influence by the New 52...especially Superman and Wonder Woman's costumes, but I'm very happy Batman was in his blue and grey unform with the yellow and black logo...influenced by the Super Friends. :)

Of all the characters, Captain Cold looked the most like he did in Super Friends. Robin had more of a Tim Drake look and even used his staff. I'm cool with that.

Whenever Lex opens his mouth, I still expect to hear Stanley Jones's voice. His Lex laugh was one of the best things from my childhood cartoon days.

Animation design is lacking slightly due to its budget but the voice actors are pretty good, they got Diedrich from Brave and the Bold to be Batman, Jason Spisak from Young Justice to be Flash, Razor and Aya from Green Lantern TAS, Azula and Sokka from Avatar, and a bunch of people with credentials in voice acting (unlike that other Justice League film that came out that week) and quite a few amusing momments in it.

This was surprisingly entertaining. I was kinda worried about the film's quality when the studio only revealed its existence last week.

The movie was definitely for younger viewers given its simple writing and characterization, but it's a superhero feature for kids to enjoy that isn't OTT humour (eg. Ultimate Spider-Man, TTG). In addition, it was pretty much Super Friends with a less campy tone, but I can't stand the original SF so the change was certainly welcome (lol, farmer Grundy). Voice acting wasn't bad either. Bader was Batman again!

I don't mind the use of the New 52 costumes as they're designs I was fine with at the debut. Ddn't much like the new looks of Cheetah or Bizarro, or Aquaman's short sleeves. I'm probably in the minority of preferring Captain Cold's eskimo gear over his New 52 look.

So yes, I'd like to see more of this incarnation, either as further DTVs or an actual series. It's breezy and light-hearted, but you don't see that anymore in DC Comics *glares at Forever Evil*...so I welcome it.

Hopefully.

It would be nice to put it in the Teen Titans time slot and then bring in Shazam and.The Shazam Kids or just bring back Young Justice

reply

Bring in Shazam? Why would we want a series about some old wizard guy who spends all his time sitting around the Rock of Eternity?

(Yes, I know that the recent comics have started calling Captain Marvel "Shazam" but I refuse to acknowledge that on account of it being stupid.)

I won't get to watch this for a few more days, but i really dislike the people in this thread thinking that because it's aimed at fun, it's aimed as kids.

It's aimed at people who want fun heroes. Something that's hardly been said at DC outside BatB for far too long.

I had like an hour before i had to leave, so i wasted little time in watching it. Well worth my time. It was very refreshing and great. I do now sincerely wish it becomes a dtv series.
