Why has Richard Shepherd left the show?

Not quite the same with this new guy (first time seeing him on the Amy Winehouse episode)

reply

I like Richard Shepherd but I think this guy is even better.

I came here wanting to know why he left the show too... I really enjoyed him up to the Nicole Brown Simpson episode which just completely rubbed me the wrong way. Everyone knows OJ did this and to suggest his son did this cause he was upset her family did not go to the restaurant he worked at... RIDICULOUS!!! I completely lost respect for him after that episode...The doc has been looking completely disheveled in his last couple of episodes so I am not sure what is going on with him. The new guy is taking a little getting used to but he is doing just fine...

Questangie - I totally agree about the Nicole Brown Simpson episode, which angered me also. Ridiculous and irresponsible speculation that draws attention away from not only OJ, but also from the dignity of the two tragic victims.

reply

Thank you Cathy.... For such a "factual" based show it had me scratching my head and wondering WTF? The Goldman family and Nicole's family deserved so much better. For this episode to be aired it had to have taken so many people to have agreed with this ridicules hypothesis. I think they owe the families and their viewers an apology. I still watch it... But more as an entertaining novelty show now...

I'm right in thinking they have done a dna test since and it matched oj's dna so unlikely that the killer was Jason, plus he didn't really have a motive and it wasn't his footprints etc.

reply

probably because he can't read a simple pee test correctly.

in the anna nicole case, he said that she had taken FOUR BENZODIAZEPINES. they were valium, nordiazepam, temazepam and oxazepam. hmmmm.

if you look it up-- just even a QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH for VALIUM METABOLITES or such, you will see that when you take JUST VALIUM, it breaks down into.... can we take a guess here.... valium, nordiazepam, oxazepam, and temazepam.

now. would an EXPERT ever make that mistake???

i mean... if you can't read a simple PEE TEST, then you should not be on a show like this.

thank you for listening. :)

Coming from a point of view of watching real investigative documentaries, this whole show reeks of entertainment.

Every one starts out with, "did X really kill so and so?" And end with pretty much, yeah, X killed so and so but let's speculate on what could have happened?

I haven't seen any actual "new facts" presented.

So while I'm sure Dr. Shepherd is very capable of reading an actual "pee test," I'm also sure what he would actually say/interpret has been dumbed down and/or exaggerated for entertainment purposes.

Sure I've learned more details about the lives and deaths of those shown, but the only real takeaways I've gotten watching this show and I've seen every episode is:

-there are an awful lot of drugs/drug combinations that suppress the respiratory system
-how shockingly easy it is for entertainers to get and abuse prescription medication
-some entertainers are shockingly stupid
-some are surrounded by shockingly stupid people
-others are in a whole lot of pain and lack any real support or coping mechanisms
-how the media spins stories around the deaths of entertainers

I don't trust people who don't like pets and I don't trust people who pets don't like.

Yes--- it certainly *IS* interesting what things you can take away from a tv show. 😀

Although... if I was actually an EXPERT on a subject in real life, and noted as such on the tv show, I would *NEVER* go on there and spit out material that is obviously and blatantly WRONG, even if it was just for RATINGS.

Knowing that anyone with half of a brain would KNOW I was lying, I wouldn't do it.

Would that not severely lower your credibility? Both in real life and on the tv show? ...Especially when you are billed as THE EXPERT? I mean... you STILL gotta live with yourself.

But then again... I've seen a LOT of people do many MANY things that *I* never would do.

Geeeeez... even in the name of RATINGS.... REALLY???

oh, and I like your tagline, GaelinW.
I should add one. maybe....

"Never do or say anything you would not want printed in a newspaper"

(I also like "Never do or say anything you would not want printed in the weekly church bulletin", but then there are people who don't go to church, and I'd be leaving them out of all the fun. 😢)

From the trailer for the new episode - Bobbie Christina Brown. It's Richard Shepherd in the video.

On another note... Mr Bungle... not seen that name in years. Family was my fave song off the album btw! Now I'm wrangling my brain trying to remember where my vinyl collection has ended up :) (you could call it a Midlife Crisis)
Mr Bungle - you have taken me back to a great time in my brain. I thank you whole-heartedly.
