Piss-poor acted/directed, cheese spread, cookie-dough shyte of the Roland Emmerich persuasion like WWZ, is what gets audience's attention and praise nowadays. Well executed horror/drama like this is decried and insulted.

I don't know why any filmmakers with a modicum of artistic merit even bother to attempt anything above absolute mediocrity nowadays. Audiences today aren't worth the fücking effort.

If you think this was directed better than WWZ youre mistaken. With all due respect, the directing in this movie was very amaturish. Action scenes were the worst, too close up and jumpy.

It pretty much has always been this way.

I don't mind so long as good filmmakers continue to be able to make little gems that I can watch and enjoy.

Let the others have their 'blockbusters'.
