Did anyone see it in 70 mm? Share your experience of it.

If you saw it in 70 mm in a cinema(which could show it - they're rare these days) - what was your impression of it? Was it worthwhile? I'm not so sure - as the film is mostly set in one location - and I think whilst the cinematography is stunning - it would have still looked great in digital. Were the extra scenes worthwhile?

I did and it was awesome. Quentin T was at the showing we were at, we saw him in the lobby before he introduced the film. He grew up near there (Torrance, Ca). I am watching on Showtime again, now and I think they cut some parts out. It's still good in SHO version. But spectacular in the theater w/ 70 mm and, of course, Quentin there for the entire show. It was Christmas Day at 1:pm we had no idea prior to going. It was awesome!

Yes I saw it on 70mm and wasn't that impressed, mostly because the theater wasn't well equipped for 70mm films. It's an old projector and the screen was too small for a super wide 2.76:1 aspect ratio like this film. I saw it the second at a digital theater and I thought it looked great there.

I really liked the film though, just wish I'd seen it at a nice 70mm theater.

I saw it in 70mm in a fairly new theater, with leather recliners and all, but with an appropriately wide screen that could properly display the ratio. It was pretty awesome, and looked terrific. I also found that the intermission worked really well, and when I saw that section on TV recently the narration seemed sort of out of place.

Saw it at the Odeon Leicester Square.

Took my dad (he saw The Good, The Bad and The Ugly on it's original run).

We got the booklet/programme at the door, had the Overture, Intermission etc.

It was a good 70mm print, I think even Tarantino sat through the premiere screening here instead of appearing on the Graham Norton show as he was supposed to.

We had a few bevvies before, during and after. My dad was really blown away by the whole experience, which made me happy☺

As a critic I've always championed 70mm, but here I was able to make my case for it in a modern context...

Yes, saw it in 70mm. It was visually stunning. I hardly remember the extra scenes but I do remember that there was an overture and an intermission, right after Sam Jackson told the dingus story and shot the general. It was a very cool cinema experience.

Victims, aren't we all?
