Confused about the ending

First of all, I'd like to say that this movie was very entertaining. Great cast and good story. Really great cast. Especially the lead role, Jocelin Donahue, was exceptional. And hot. There is only one thing that I didn't get: who got the money in the end? She, or the sheriff?

I'm thinking that Laine split the money between the two bags that she threw into the Nova. She had the tan bag at the end. The Sheriff got half and she has the rest.

Thanks for clearing that up, I was confused as well.

Loved Jocelin Donahue in this, especially love her voice.

I think she just saved her life. Nothing else.

The sheriff took all the money.

The brown bag was filled with clothes, the black one with the money.

There was no evidence to suggest that the girl got any money. I think the sheriff took everything.
