If I didn't like the first 5 episodes...

Is it safe to say I don't like the show? FYI: I'm not some IMDb troll who jumps onto boards for things he doesn't like just to let everyone know that the thing they like is dumb: I really want to like this show. Paul F Tompkins is in my top 10 standup comedians of all time. When I saw he was hosting a show (I know I'm late, just found it on Hulu), I was thrilled. But with the passing of each episode, I just found myself really bored with the concept.

To me, it seems like a great idea for a Mr. Show sketch, a debate panel with puppets. But to carry on a show with this singular idea, I was over it pretty quick. The title is probably the funniest possible title for a debate oriented show. There are some funny moments, overall it kind of has an English humor sort of vibe to it where they are very serious while being very silly. But after a couple episodes I was left thinking, "Is this it?" After 5 episodes, I called it quits.

If I didn't like it after 5 episodes, #6 isn't going to turn it around for me, is it? Still a huge PFT fan, but pretty sure this show isn't for me.

Are you talking about the first season, where the episodes are 10 minutes each? I didn't really like those either. In fact I think I only watched a handful of them.

I'd say skip right to season 3, when the show becomes a half hour. It's no longer just an extended debate panel. There are more satirical segments like man-on-the-street interviews with Hot Dog (the talking hot dog), guest stars, lightning rounds, etc. It's much faster paced and more focused.

If you watch a couple of episodes from season 3 and still don't like it, then you can safely assume it's not for you.

A few days after my post, I did skip ahead, Hulu gives a screenshot of the episodes and I saw Brian Posehn in one of the shots and figured I'd check that out. Definitely an improvement, Season 3's format, but I still didn't like it that much. I'll probably revisit the show after a few months and see if it grabs me (and I'll start at Season 3 for sure!)
