Unbelievable(literally)

This movie was a little too forced and far-fetched for me. Here's why: 1) How likely is it for a couple to stop and ask another couple for directions only to get into a deadly car crash with the very same couple later on that night. And 2) How likely is it for Mia's preschool teacher to be the exact same person that her parents got into a car crash with 4 years before? Like c'mon!

It was be a lot more believable if Rachael was just a stranger to Gabby and she became obsessed with Mia because she reminded her of her own daughter. Because during the flashback when Gabby was sitting in the backseat with Crystal, I honestly thought she was Mia for a second(didn't realize it was a flashback at first).

Also, it really annoyed me how dumb Rachael was. First, she sees bruises on Mia's arms and then actually believes Gabby's story that they were caused by another preschooler. And then she still keeps Mia at that same daycare and goes on her merrily way. And during the part when Gabby just drops by Rachael's house she allows her to just barge in and make herself at home. Like, are you kidding me?

I totally agree with you about this movie being inplausible. If a child is injured at a daycare or any school setting for that matter, there would have a phone call placed to the parents and a written incident report describing what happened. No way would a three-year old just be sent home with bruises and no explanation.

The fact that Rachel is/was married to an attorney made it even worse since that would have been an instant lawsuit!

I agree that this movie is farfetched. UK Channel 5 TV actually describe it as a black comedy thriller. I find this a strange description because I don't really see the lack of logic in this movie as humor.

Have you not read or seen news report of women who have given up a child finding out that they either live near the child or the have unknowingly been doing business or other things with the child they gave up? Or that siblings who were adopted separately have had similar things happen? So it is not far-fetched that this scenario in this movie could happen.

She found bruises on Mia once, so why not believe Gabby's story? I could see your point if the bruises appeared again.

Rachel did not just allow Gabby to just barge into her house. Rachel was taken aback at what Gabby was doing, how she was acting. Rachel was trying to be nice to Gabby.

Um yes I have heard stories like that which there aren't very many of them so the chances of that happening are very unlikely.

First of all, a 3 year old cannot cause bruises like that. Secondly when Rachel picked Mia up, she witnessed Gabby being a little aggressive with her. She should've automatically thought of that when she saw the bruises. So she should've been really put off by that especially when she was having doubts about daycare to begin with.

Rachel did not just allow Gabby to just barge into her house. Rachel was taken aback at what Gabby was doing, how she was acting. Rachel was trying to be nice to Gabby.

She might as well have! First of all, Gabby was of out of line just for showing up. When she had the nerve to say "Aren't you gonna invite me in?" Rachel should've said "It's actually not a good time right now! Goodbye!" and just closed the door. But no, she just let her come right on in and just walk around touching everything. She let Gabby take it way too far!
