Lovely Film.

I saw this Yesterday. I found it moving, funny and artistic and a little disturbing without being pretentious. Wonderful performances all round and a nice tribute to the poet as well as to Brinnin. 5 stars.

I loved it as well. Which was all the more impressive since I really disliked the recent Dylan Thomas BBC production (and I love Tom Hollander, so was particularly disappointed in that.)

To me, I felt its passion and I loved how Dylan, while wild sort of tries to inspire something in John - for him to be less afraid. To me it sort of said that to be truly alive, you must allow yourself to feel deeply, but to feel anything deeply is to feel pain. And then you are left with: how can it be that a person can be truly alive and also survive? Well, the film said more than this, but in any case, it's one thing I felt (if that makes any sense at all!?!)

I really enjoyed it anyway. I thought the entire cast were excellent. And to single someone out, I love Shirley Henderson! But everyone was wonderful! I found it a lovely little film, I felt Celyn Jones rounded out a man who seems not the most simple of characters: gave him depth and substance and made him touching and everyone was great: Elijah Wood, Kelly Reilly... well, everyone! 
