Some Dissenting Feelings

I just read through the nine (all positive) user comments, and I did agree w/ all the kudos they gave the film, but then I also rated the film a 6. Why? Not sure; i think it was just too short for it to be the best it could be,imo. There needed to be more of Thomas's works read aloud; more info about B (just before the end, the camera lingers long on that face, but i just didn't get what realization/thoughts we were supposed to understand of B.); was he gay? did the DT experience cause his decision to resign, quit poetry and write non- fiction?)How was DT's 2nd and 3rd U.S. tour- diff from the 1st, and did B manage those tours?or did B never see DT again?;and, OT maybe but, for my $, I so wanted to see more of the divinely stellar Ms. Henderson.(I marvel at her subtly nuanced turns; she seems to spiritually absorb her characters.)

The biggest plus of the film for me was that it gave me a look at one particular genius/artist and what it can be like to be concurrently filled with both rage and a peaceful glow.
With DT,as with Van Gogh, Mahler, and so many others, I feel a profound sadness that it took such unhappiness and tragedy to create a body of work that has touched the souls of millions.
