The best Bible movie I have seen

This is how Bible movies should be made. I find it a great experience to watch as the gospel of John is narrated and the scenes acted out. Not all of the stories in the Bible could be done this way for they are decidedly short and would not make a whole movie, but any story of length should be done this way in my opinion. The best part about it is that it sticks to scripture and doesn't really embellish the story but rather shows it how it reads.

I wholeheartedly agree. This is hands down the best depiction of Jesus's life. It follows the bible and never ventures off into someone else's interpretation of what they think He should be. I also love the actors they used in this film. It makes me believe I'm actually watching the true life of Jesus. It is all about Him and our salvation through Him! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!

The narration by Harewood is simply the best reading of the Gospel of John I have every heard. He speaks as well as Plummer but with far more emotion. The actor chosen to perform Jesus has the face of the person on the Shroud of Turin. He himself is very dynamic. Very powerful. The camera centers on him, so he totally carries the film. What you see is not strictly what is being talked about. There are flashbacks and additions to the story. Hence we see at the last Supper the breaking of the bread and the consecration of the cup, but not the words of institution found in the other Gospel story. So visually this is not an exact presentation of the words being read. I think it is well edited and well shot. Of the several films versions of the Gospel of John, I like this best. It would also work well for the other Gospels and Acts.
