The narrator pronounces 'Kanawha' wrong
Well, he at least doesn't pronounce it like a native West Virginia. He pronounces it the way newscasters do. "Can-a-wha" instead of "cuh-naw".
This show seems fake.

As a native West Virginian, I didn't even notice that but you're right. It is definitely a fake show but I love the scenery...it reminds me of home. I can remember kids in high school talking about hunting ginseng on the weekends.
shareI have only been to WV once so I'd probably pronounce it wrong too and not know it... haha. But I DO notice and get a laugh when anyone on this show or similar shows such as Moonshiners pronounces Appalachia wrong... saying it as "App-a-LAY-shuh" instead of "App-a-LATCH-uh", which is how people who live there say it. I know it's just a difference in dialect, but still it's kind of a silly goof if they're shooting for accuracy...
