The narrator pronounces 'Kanawha' wrong

Well, he at least doesn't pronounce it like a native West Virginia. He pronounces it the way newscasters do. "Can-a-wha" instead of "cuh-naw".

This show seems fake.

As a native West Virginian, I didn't even notice that but you're right. It is definitely a fake show but I love the scenery...it reminds me of home. I can remember kids in high school talking about hunting ginseng on the weekends.

I have only been to WV once so I'd probably pronounce it wrong too and not know it... haha. But I DO notice and get a laugh when anyone on this show or similar shows such as Moonshiners pronounces Appalachia wrong... saying it as "App-a-LAY-shuh" instead of "App-a-LATCH-uh", which is how people who live there say it. I know it's just a difference in dialect, but still it's kind of a silly goof if they're shooting for accuracy...
