Sadly lacking

High Strung is everything you never dreamed of. It’s the movie you never knew you wanted, and afterwards, you still might not know if you wanted it. I cannot tell you it’s not worth watching, however, because Jazzy is so horribly entertaining. Other than her parts, there’s not much to see. It’s well shot, and looks pretty on the screen, but the film itself lacks much of what makes any movie even remotely likeable. For its presumably intended audience of children, sure, it’s going to be an hour and a half where they’ll be entertained and out of your hair.
