most boring movie of this decade???

i enjoyed first two movies.
but this was utter crap. very pretentious. i dont know what was the director thinking. was he thinking he is making citizen ken with cgi chimps???
the second half was absolutely dreadful . i kept looking at my phone all the time.
skip this .
its not worth your money at all.

Wrong! one of the best. Film so pure makes it one of the best trilogy in recent times where all 3 are good. Director did not get distracted with any cheap antics and gave wonderful closure.

were disappointed at all that it was the film that was Promised, set up and even Promoted?

I actually agree that this is a very good film and A great way to end The Trilogy....

But I also feel it was the WRONG FILM....

This is not what Audiences were expecting, this is not the film that DAWN set up, The Studio promised or even what the trailers promoted....

and IMO I think thats why the film under achieved....

I do not think The Studios oriiginal pan was for WAR to being a definitive end...I dont think they ever saw this as a Trilogy....I think They clearly wanted to go forward with A 3rd film focusing on The WAR that was set up in Dawn at the end and probably continue making more sequels....

but I think everything changed with the success of Dawn and how great Dawn was....

I think The Studio wanted Reeves back, He probably got complete control, The Studio trusted him after Dawn, He earned it and Reeves just decided not to follow through with the WAR stoeyline...Instead He decided to make A Character piece, A deep, meaningful story and A Definitive End to The series as A Trilogy....

I believe he did a fantastic job, I just think He made The Wrong film...

If DAWN didnt set up the WAR....If The title wasnt WAR....If The trailer werent edited in a way to mislead the audience into thinking this was A WAR....

I would have zero complaints....

But I just feel even though this was a very good film....It was mildly Infuriating because it was not the film audiences thought they were going to see....

LOVED The first 2.....especially Rise

but IMO this is one of the best examples ever of A film failing to deliver what was promised and Promoted....

The Titled of The film is "WAR"

Dawn of the Apes ending Set up the WAR...

we got NO WAR

This film was originally set to be released 2 years after DAWN...but the studio pushed it back because Reeves specifically asked for more time to work on the script...

for whatever reason...Reeves completely over thought this movie and the film....He wanted this movie to be an "end" to the trilogy and make it some deep meaningful story...instead of A 3rd film...

that is not what audiences wanted, Its not what The second film promised, its not even how the film was marketed, They Mislead the audience with the trailers, They tried to edit them in a way that it looked action packed and like it was A "War"....

but the film simply was nothing like what was promised....IMO thats why it under achieved...

Now with that being said....this was a very good film...and would have probably been a good way to end the trilogy Had THE film not been titled "WAR" and had DAWN not ended by setting up A "War"

Reeves wrote and directed a very good film....It was just the wrong film.

You Teased,Promised and Promoted A WAR......and we got a Character piece instead....

as I was watching this film I got a very odd feeling....I enjoyed what I was watching, Thought the film was good, But was over come by incredible Anger and disappointment that this was not the film I thought I was coming to see....

that is my thoughts....

again I cant think of a better example of literally Just making THE WRONG film....and A Studio and Director LYING to its audiences....

I think what happened was, Reeves got complete control after The Success Of DAWN....

I think The studio had every intentions of going forward with The WAR storyline....But Dawn was so good and such a success, They trusted Reeves and let him do his own thing to get him back to direct....

I think Reeves basically just scrapped the original plans for WAR....and write his own movie to the trilogy....

The "war" was an internal one.

You are dumb.

reply

Agreed.

The story and the acting were all subpar.
