I wonder if those names are just a nod to the original Planet of the Apes, or if the characters will grow up to be Nova and Cornelius in a fourth installment that will feature an astronaut returning from space and finding the planet controlled by apes.

shareI don't know, if there is a next one with a story similar to the Charlton Heston version, it can't take place during the lifetime of Cornelius and Nova - that would be what - 15 or 20 years after the events of "War"? Far too little time for the planet to change so much and for traces of human civilisation to disappear almost completely.
