Cliché or Awesomeness or both

How do you think it would play out in the long run if they made Caeser go full on dictator and become corrupted by wordly stuff, revealing the human-like tendencies within him? And then at the height of his newfound wickedness he sees a picture or that old video camera with James Franco's character, leading to an existential crisis, eventually forcing himself into hiding, isolating himself from the world.

I think this would be kind of cool to see, maybe developing it towards the end of this film, and then making it the focus of the next.
