Film critics are equivalent of a hate group

The reason why this movie was so hated by critics? Because it doesn't subscribe to their vile, putrid agenda of holding feminists on a pedestal. Any film that doesn't have a female hero who abuses men, or doesn't have significant enough black or gay character, will get trashed. Oh, a white dude who persevered, hmm, we can't have this, says the critic.

This film was so awesome! It makes us think about the our life and what is worth living. Seeing those who died in vain alters our warped perspective of sadness. The forest and the spirituality enlightens us. Men, go see this movie, don't let the "critics" deceive you!

Men go see a bad looking movie because I made up a reason why most critics didn't like it because I hilariously believe that white males are the most persecuted people on Earth instead of the most privileged. Thanks for the laugh, I needed it!

Why don't you go on Rottentomatoes, and you will see, any girl power movie, like the terrible Ghostbusters, will get a fresh score, while any movie that portrays damsel in distress, will get a rotten mark. To get good reviews these days, a movie has to have a "strong female" who abuses men, with a gay best friend, and or a black boss or some authority figure.

What are you talking about? You sound nuts! And obsessed with hating on things that have nothing to do with the films reception.

I'm a feminist (as are most people who recognize the true meaning of the word as EQUALITY for men and women) and I thoroughly enjoyed the film. But have also really disliked many films with female protagonists. It's got nothing to do with that, it is about story, direction, acting, structure, pacing, tone, cinematography, the score etc.

Not how many gay characters there are. I think you'll find decades of film with white male protagonists, no openly gay characters and women in a supporting role that are beloved by critics.

reply

You are not a feminist. A true feminist doesn't want EQUALITY, they want total domination and enslavement of men. Have you seen WIcker Man? That kind of feminist. The kind of feminism "critics" applaud, like Ladybusters, I mean Ghostbusters, where in the whole movie, the females verbally and physically harass and assault men, who are all portrayed as dumbos, weaklings, or psychos.

Who cares about decades of film with white male antagonists, the youth of America and the world doesn't know about that. I don't care about skin color, I care about how men are treated in TV shows and movies, always acting lame and stupid, weak and pathetic. In this film, Mathew was a little bit like that, but he persevered and overcame his hardships, thus, critics slam this film! I am talking about modern films, and its horrendous portrayal of humanity, always showing "girl power" as she "kicks" male butt, oh like that's realistic, .....you go girl! Woo hoo!

Gee, someone's mother did not hug him enough. Go ask for a cuddle, love.

reply

Geez, what an angry nutter. IMDB is full of them.

I simply am not there...

Fyi, your meaning of feminism is waaaaaay off. But, by the sound of your user name, no amount of explanation, whether it be friendly or antagonizing, will open your mind to what a true feminist really is. Sad face.
That said, get over here, you big sad boy! I'll give you a hug!

I thought the film had a beautiful message, and the way it passes it through to us increases it's strength.

Although I myself am an Atheist, and don't believe in an afterlife, the film touched me non the less.

First off, Naomi Watts' character was an alcoholic, she is a representation of a REAL person.
Has NOTHING to do with feminism. Everyone reading these boards knows someone who is an alcoholic, man or woman. *beep* happens, it's called LIFE!

Never read critics stuff, it's only depressing, and they never influence my like or dislike of a movie, people are different from each other, no way a movie is going to be liked by everyone in the world.
