Did he bring the flower from Japan?

He brought a flower into his house when he returns home which I assume was the Mr Miyagi flower. I didn't think US Customs would allow this but it's apparently okay. According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection:

Can I bring cut flowers for myself or significant other?

Most cut flowers are able to enter the United States. However, they must be declared and able to be inspected by an Agriculture Specialist. If the plant material is found to be propagatable or bug and disease agents are present the plant material will be seized and denied entry.

No fruits, nutts or plants can be brought across US border

And no live animals or dead animals, no animal parts

The flower was found by Arthur, next to his friend/spirit Takumi. As he said, when a spirit leaves the forest, a flower is born and left behind.
Arthur then took it to his wife's special place, by the vacation home.

But how did he get it to his home?!

reply

He definitely had the orchard on the plane with him, later he put it on the table when he arrived home.

As far as customs go, it's a MOVIE- sometimes we have to suspend our knowledge/beliefs in order for the writer to get their message across.
Also, orchids do not grow in soil, don't know if that makes a difference to both of the countries customs?

Later he planted it in their favorite place.
