Really Enjoyed it

It's not high art or anything but was really entertaining and i thought all performances were great

Agreed.

Also Recently Uwe Boll said he is gonna make third and last Rampage to finish the trilogy.

reply

i think our antihero definitely dies in the third film

Why the obsession with trilogies? Bill always stays ahead so he should get to a four and five easily enough.

The only issue is the obvious lowering of the budget in each rampage. By the time Part Six comes around he will be reduced to vandalising a kiosk with a brick.

Yeah the law of diminishing returns is definitely at play here. The first was actually pretty damn entertaining in a nihilistic sort of way. It was fun to watch him set things up then actually get away with it. That never really happened here. Plus the script was worse, and Mr. Fletcher's acting just wasn't as good.

Also his characters values seem to have been written in an ambiguous way. He hassles homeless people on the streets about their friends dying while prattling into the camera about the rich/powerful being the problem. So which is it? Then to muddle things further, he starts mowing down random people as they walk by.

The point of the 1st, in my eyes, was that he had no political or societal agenda. That was all a smoke screen to him actually being about the money. To the point of setting up his best friend to take the fall and then murdering him.

Now it turns out he was political the whole time and the robbery was really to fund his big protest message. Which was to take down one small local news station full of people with no real money, power, or influence. With some good writing that could be interesting. But instead we get the same ol 'take hostages & make them play your tape' stuff we've seen a thousand times before.

This looked and sounded way cheaper than the 1st, I agree. They tried to have an ending similar to the 1st, but it was just so poorly written it didn't work at all...

It's beyond what happened in the news station. Millions of people saw the message. Revolution will happen. White House in Rampage 3?

White House in Rampage 3?

-Which is what we expected here given that the cover shows him in the nation's capital. I would have much preferred that!

Millions of people saw the message

-Millions of people saw the message of ISIS recently, doesn't mean anything is going to happen with it, or that millions of people are going out and joining them.

Revolution will happen.

-How many will follow your cause when it comes out that you've also killed random people who walked by for no reason? That's not a revolution.

I'd love to see them regain control with rampage 3 and have him actually do something that mattered to those actually in power. But if it's as bad as this one is compared to the first, then it's probably time to give up on the series...

Writing is the Achilles heel in all of Boll's films. He's a decent director from a technical standpoint and he has some really talented actors to work with, but he just cranks out too much product in too short a time and the writing always suffers.

reply

It says Fletcher co-wrote it. He probably felt bad for playing a total nihilist in the first one... You could tell there was still an anti-human element to the storyline which didn't work at all with the left wing high school politics... I prefer the first one.
