Why did the villain take out his eye in the end.

Also was the villain really yong guan or was it a case of identity theft?

He wanted to avenge himself since Guha took his eyes in the first scene of the movie..

And Guha took Yong Guan's identity after he was killed in 1939 by the Japanese gang..

Maybe that was his only way of getting out of the position he was in ..and maybe he had deducted that the only way to get out with the least amount of damage was to lose his eye ..so I see it as a sacrifice ..

Either that or the film makers were trying to show how crazy and evil he was ...

Both cases work for me however
