I didn't understand that why did Dr. revealed his identity half way through the movie. I mean the whole purpose of whodunit was gone at that point and rest of the movie was just to know why he did it instead of who and how he did it. It just ruined the whole movie for me as in such a movies you wanna keep on guessing till the last point but the the guessing game was over half way through.

This is not exactly the stereotype whodunit movie, rather more of a who-is-he (Yang Guang) and why-dun-it? Even though it was confessed by the doctor that he had done it, there were many other questions that arose because of the sudden confession like, if he had done it, then how could he poison the minister as he wasn't there? If not in person, then he must have an ally? Now let's consider the Doctor killed the minister and Ajit's father (don't remember the name), then who killed the Japanese and the young guy in the dental clinic? There were so many things in the movie despite the mid-way confession of the killer that kept the movie going for me. I personally found it pretty intriguing. :)

Because even if BB thinks that Yang Guang was the mastermind of all these and the Doctor, Anguri Devi, the ministers' brothers were all pawns at his hands what purpose does it serve to the doctor? Because as a doctor everyone knows who he is and by admitting his identity he has to go and hide somewhere, whereas if everyone thinks tht Yang=Guang is the killer then it would help the doctor because no one knows who Yang-Guang is and by doing that he could have kept his double identity and could have been with BB all the time and would know his plans in advance.
Also it was pretty obvious tht the Japenese Doctor killed the young guy and the lady in the clinic.
What I thought - First the doctor tried to just divert the investigation by trying to frame the Minister by proving Ajit's father as the potential blackmailer and the deal gone wrong. When that didn't work, and the dying minister uttered "Yang Guang" or rather "Young Gun" as was deciphered wrongly by BB in front of Anguri Devi, as a defensive measure Doctor took all the blame upon himself with the freedom fighting angle so that BB doesn't even investigate any further.
Now going by the point you made
hereas if everyone thinks tht Yang=Guang is the killer then it would help the doctor because no one knows who Yang-Guang is and by doing that he could have kept his double identity and could have been with BB all the time and would know his plans in advance.
My Take on This:
BB had already found out that paper cutting was done after Ajit's father left. So, it must have been one of the residents of the lodge including the doctor who was connected with the whole affair (including deaths of Ajit's father and Minister)
The minister while dying uttered Young Gun. If BB would have investigated further he would have found that it instead was Yang Guang.
So adding the two equations:
Yang Guang = Someone living at the lodge. (or his accomplice)
Instead, Doctor tried to misdirect it by giving the whole freedom fighter angle.
So the new equation becomes:
Dr. Anukul = killer of Ajit's Father + Minister to save his country.
In Anukul's own words, If BB is on the trail of a person, he won't leave him no matter what. So, Anukul didn't want him on Yang Guang's trail.
