Jimmy Reflecting on Trump's victory on tonight's show

After the opening monologue, Jimmy did a short segment where he got serious and seemed legitimately distraught about Trump's victory, and emphasized that his show will be an escape from the reality of Trump's presidency. Usually he does these segments after a real tragedy, like the French terrorist attacks. I found it quite lame that Jimmy resorted breaking character and resorted to the typical moral superiority of liberalism for this.

It also seems like the show's producers controlled the audiences' reactions during the opening segment. When he first brought up that Trump is now the president, there was not a single cheer or clap. Not one. I find it extremely hard to believe that in an audience of around 100 guests there was not a single Trump supporter. Of course, once he dropped the first anti-Trump joke, the entire audience erupted in laughter.

LOL, you are DELUSIONAL.

Hollywood's days are not numbered, that's laughable! Trump winning will not change the culture, and it certainly won't change the populace. He will continue to be skewered, vilified and crucified every single day of his life by Hollywood, by the media, and by all the people who will never acquiesce.

If you believe any differently, you are truly kidding yourself.

Jimmy Fallon is the last person to "get serious" considering that he pretty much helped "normalize" Donald Trump in the first place!

How can his show be an escape from the reality of Trump's presidency when tonight, after talking about how Trump was only going to take a dollar for his presidential salary, he basically called him an income tax evader? Then he really got nasty. I'm tired of it. I don't want to hear anymore about it and Fallon is no longer relevant or funny. Of course when he made his income tax evasion joke the audience clapped and cheered so I also believe the producers are somewhat controlling the audiences reactions. I'd rather watch re-runs of Gilligan's Island than watch this mess he calls a show.

I look forward to reading your comments on the "Gillian's Island" message board.
