Cruella de Vil being played by a black actress.

My friend and I had a bet that people would complain about Cruella Deville being played by a black actress but would have nothing to say about all the other non-white actors. She said that is ridiculous why would they complain about one race being wrong but not the other. Then I said its because she is black and black is the ultimate no no.

Looks like I won the bet. Everyone is complaining about Cruella but not the others. Yay to elective racial perceptions. It just won me a week of no dish washing.

I don't have anything against her being black. What's bothering me is that her son has zero hint of it.

Funny you said that considering that Cameron Boyce who plays her son has a father who is black... so...what were you expecting him to look like?...

what is Cameron's Boyce mom like?

reply

His mother is Ashkenazi Jewish and his father is African-American.

according to IMDB

Lol that is funny. I guess I just assumed that his dad is also black on the show. Maybe they should make him appear in the sequel! Omg. His parents are black and white just like Cruella's theme!

I didn't know he was biracial at first either. But, his black features are definitely starting to show more and more. He's just really light skinned. I think it's cool she's black in this and he's playing her son. Diversity is good.

you want to see zero hint of black, look up the child model "berkley clayborne" she has three siblings too, they're half black but look white as ever. you can tell they're half black though through their features, but not skin. sometimes it's like that!!! follow some of those mixed race babies pages on instagram and you'll be seeing a random of kids haha

I love him and I think it works really well Cruella would be black for some reason.
