Theory on Maleficent's casting

In one scene, the Fairy Godmother said that Maleficent has small love in her heart so maybe the reason why Maleficent is currently Kristin Chenoweth must be as part of her punishment and banishment to the Isle of the Lost. Her old regal and imposing stature as it was in the original Sleeping Beauty was transformed into a perky and petite version that we get in "Descendants"!

I actually loved seeing Kristin Chenoweth take on a Disney villan we never got to see her in a part like this she always seems to play good characters and that's not a bag thing but I think she proved to me that she can play both good and evil but I do agree with you

She's played a villain like this. But not like this evil villain. Lily St. Regis in Annie was a villain. Just more a ditsy blonde villain. Not pure evil.
