To be honest

Am I the only one who thinks even though Audrey was kinda suspicious of the villain kids the way Ben broke up with her was do sad.

I was... until she kissed CHAD and said he was her new boyfriend. If their relationship was real, she wouldn't have reacted that way.

Audrey didn't care a prick about Ben or his dreams. Chad and Audrey are more soulmates because their respective moms spoiled them both rotten

Have you never heard about revenge dating? She's not the first person (and won't be the last) to date someone else just to tell their dumper "I don't need you, jerkass." Maybe Audrey didn't care about who she dated for as long as he's a Prince but she's still a girl whose boyfriend suddenly dumped her for another girl and she never knew about the love potion.

I thought it was EXTREMELY sad. While Audrey came off as a bit of a snob and suspicious, the fact that the 4 main characters did alter Ben's perception with a cookie was incredibly awful. With that kind of action, Audrey's suspicions would have been correct initially.

AFter Ben ate the magical cookie, then professes his love for Mal in front of the whole school without breaking up with Audrey, was upsetting. Right now he was under the influence of a cookie, without knowledge. Audrey was most likely crushed, especially if there was already bad blood due to their parents' history.

But the real kicker was after Ben swam in the Enchanted lake, and the spell wears off. He does nothing to apologize for hurting Audrey or reconcile with her. He just didn't care. This is the worse level of jerk there was.

This is an awful form of betrayal on Ben's part.

reply

Would have been, but she and Ben deserve each other.

I'd've gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for you meddling kids.
