Will the Gracepoint Final Twist be repeated in Broadchurch Season 2?

The post says Broadchurch s2, not Gracepoint S2. I.e. will the second season of the original show, copy the twist from the American remake. Broadchurch S2 has finished filming and is currently halfway through airing.

Assuming the 'final twist' refers to the revelation that it was Ellie's son who murdered Danny, not his father (who took the fall for him), no, it won't be repeated in Broadchurch. Broadchurch and Gracepoint had different causes of death. In Broadchurch Danny was killed by being strangled by someone with large hands. This would rule out Ellie's son.

FYI, Broadchurch 2 ended this week and did not use the Gracepoint twist.

Then sceond season hasn't aaired in the US yet but it would seem that doing so would be difficult. In Broadchurch Danny was strangled. It would be hard for Tom to accidentallly strangle Danny to death.

Unless Alpert's covered in bacon grease, I don't think Hugo can track anything.

That still wouldn't make it an accident. You could say Joe strangling him was an accident in that case.

No offence, but that idea would just never work. It would be a massive stretch to believe that Joe didn't know Danny was strangled considering he was married to a detective on the case. That information would most likely be revealed to the general public anyway. Also, it would be one thing for him to jump to the conclusion that his 11 year old is a murderer, but another for him to believe that his 11 year old then dragged the body to the beach and staged it as a suicide.

On top of all that though, the main reason why it would just never work is the fact that Joe confessed to strangling Danny. So we would then have to assume that Joe did know Danny was strangled (in which case he would know it wasn't Tom), or that he simply has a "lucky guess" during his confession.

The Gracepoint ending was a very poorly written twist that was simply tacked on so they could hype it up as being different to the original.
