PLEASE tell me that Jonah constantly 'hugging'...
...his female teacher, even as she struggled and shoved him and yelled "Get off me" wouldn't truly, actually be tolerated in Australia. He was basically sexually assaulting her at every turn.
shareA 14 year old student hugging a teacher would hardly be considered sexual assault. If the teacher was extremely bothered by it she may of gotten him in trouble over it, but come on sexual assault against a bloody 14 year old?

In SHH, Jonah made a wildly inappropriate remark (of an explicit sexual nature) to his hated-but-attractive teacher which did result in him getting dragged into the office for counselling/discipline so I was surprised that in this series his manhandling of yet another lady teacher just went on and on.
Having been to a high school exactly like this one right down to the 'spaz house' I can say it's definitely tolerated (to a certain degree) and realistic. I don't think it's entirely sexual, I think Chris Lilly may be trying to make a point about Jonah growing up without a mother.
Some of the extras in the scenes at the juvenile detention center in 'Angry Boys' and 'Jonah' actually attended this high particular high school. Just playing themselves with no acting experience.
A 14 year old kid raped and murdered his teacher this year, so I'd say it's definitely not something to be taken lightly this day in age, unfortunately. AGE has nothing to do with sexual assault. There are kids even younger on record for sexual assault on other kids even. I do think people overreact at times, but 14 is a fairly common age to start experimenting with sex anyways these days. What makes you think they aren't capable of forcing themselves on someone? With a weapon, especially?
