Pretty good movie for those who relate, pretty awful for those who don't...

Online Mews??? What the heck, a typo in your signature file? smh

First of all, what sort of a person responds just to attack someone's signature? That's weird.

Also, it's not a typo, it's a cat reference play on the word news with the sound cats make... and shaking your head at someone's signature seems like a real silly use of your time.

Now how would someone who doesn't know you know that? I'm the type of person who notices typos or things that look like typos. Anyway, there was nothing else interesting in your review to respond to.

reply

So why respond at all?? If you would've payed attention to the guy's handle, "jmbwithCATS", you would've put 2 and 2 together when reading his sig.

Honestly...some people just have nothing better to do than to look for someone to pick on. What's funny is...you tried to correct what wasn't wrong...lol! 

"Ain't life grand!"

reply

No. I'd never heard of mews used that way. So I never would've put that together.

Has nothing to do with cats.

Speaking of signatures, in yours, you ask a question, but instead of a question mark, you end it with an exclamation point. Or factorial. LOL

Mew or meow is a word which describes the sound that a cat makes.

mew 1
myo͞o/Submit
verb
1.
(of a cat or some kinds of bird) make a characteristic high-pitched crying noise.
"a throng of cats and kittens mewing to be fed"
synonyms: meow, mewl, cry
"the cat mewed plaintively"
noun
1.
the high-pitched crying noise made by a cat or bird.
"a kitten's mew"

My sig is said, as a statement, not a question. If you've ever watched the 1967 version of Bonnie and Clyde, with Warren Beatty & Faye Dunaway, you would know this as that's a line that Clyde (Warren) says, excitedly, to his brother Buck (Hackman) as more of a statement rather than asked in the form of a question. Although...in the script, it does have a question mark. But, like I said, the way it was said sounded more like a statement, rather than a question, that's why I gave it a exclamation point...sort of makes it unique in my own special little way. Besides...I DO mean it as a statement...in a sarcastic sort of way. Please don't lose sleep over it. 

G'day.

Not losing any sleep over it. Not sure why you would think I am.

I'm just noticing silly signature files with errors in them - and folks doing their damndest to justify the errors. You even said in the script there was a "?" so that proves my point.

Anyway, in answer to your question, no, life ain't grand. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good. But grand? No. Just like your signature file. ;-)

I've been around cats (prefer dogs but cats are cute little animals, too) and never heard any of them "mew". Meow, yes. Now cows, they DO mew, but they pronounce it "moo". But I digress. ROFL

Glad to hear that you're not losing sleep over silly little "so called" errors in people's sigs. And as I said that the script showed my sig as having a "?" in Bonnie and Clyde. However, Warren Beatty still said it as a statement...not a question. Watch it some time and hear it for yourself, I think you'll then understand why I chose a exclamation point for my sig. As I also said, I chose it that way to make a sarcastic statement...not a question. And, again...If you haven't seen the 1967 Bonnie and Clyde, you should check it out some time, it's a pretty good film! 

I see you understood the point I was making in my sig by seeing it as a statement. You gave me the reaction I was trying to get. You're absolutely correct, in my book, life ain't grand...in fact, it's often anything BUT grand for many...including myself. And that's another reason I said it as a statement rather than a question...it makes people think rather than answer, "yes or no". And as for it being a question in the script, well, that was a rough draft, not the actual script so it could've changed or been improvised by Beatty himself...as he well did. It's hard to catch it in the film as he says it quite fast with a big grin on his face. 

So, in actuality though...my sig could be interpreted both ways...as a question or a statement...depending on how it is written. It's just like saying the phrase, "Ain't life a bitch!", of which is also a phrase, not a question. Actually, that's what my sig is...it's a phrase. I have also seen it written as such...just like my sig.

So, no, I'm not trying to justify any wrong doing, just trying to show you how a phrase can be used in the form of a question or a statement...some can work both ways and be correct either way.

As for cat sounds in the form of a word, mew and meow, have been used pretty much forever. Here is a link on the word "mew". It also has other meanings...depending on how and what you're using it for...kind of like my sig. 

I, too, prefer dogs...I loooove dogs! I spelled the word "love" with several "o"'s to emphasize on how much I love dogs. I know it's incorrectly spelled. I think you get my point there...lol. 

Okies, I'm off for the night, have a good one. Nighty, night...sweet dreams. 

Oh! Speaking of Bonnie and Clyde, here's a link where you can watch for free! If you do try to watch it, give it a couple minutes to load...sometimes it's really slow but the site usually works great. Enjoy! 
