The dinner party scene...

... is a an example of exquisite film-making. One little scene, so many emotions. Such great acting from everyone. The actors laughing in the end feels so genuine and affectionate, it's hard to imagine it was done in less than one take. The fork being set down for what feels to be about an incredibly awkward moment. The director's choice of shots are pretty much perfect here. In the end it conveys so much love and friendship at that table for our main character. This one scene really blew me away with it's execution from all involved.

The movie as a whole was very good, but this scene stole the show. Truly brilliant movie moment.

Yes. I just watched that part. It's absolutely gorgeous, in the most gentle, kind sort of way. Lovely.

Yes, both dinner party scenes were terrific, loved when the teasingly told them all to "get out." Good friends are hard to find, I'm so glad he had support during this horrific time.

The entire film is a masterpiece in my opinion but I agree that the dinner scene stood out as Jeffries character was not only very natural in his own skin but his friends accepted him this way.
