As a daily tea drinker in the US, I'm struck by how much tea is consumed on Happy Valley. Every few scenes they ask each other if they want tea. Amusing!
you see this on all UK shows - I just watched Shetland and it was the same thing. It is endearing.

People in Yorkshire are particularly fond of tea, there is a brand of tea called 'Yorkshire tea', they also get very precious when you discuss how to make the perfect cup of tea.
