that jailcell looked.. Cozy

Laying back watching a private tv and smoking cigarettes freely on what seems to be an actual mattress. Damn England

Long term prisoners have a lot of freedoms and "luxuries". The cliché usually trotted out by your average Daily Mail reader is that prisons are "five star hotels". I've been there at meal time - believe me, not five star!

reply

Four?

They should have showed Tommy Lee watching Grantchester.

(But that would have been in the Mel Brooks version of Happy Valley)

Which is one of the many reasons I don't read the DM.

Take his window away! And shove a few more convicts in there as cell mates!!!

Burn, baby, burn!

reply

Oh, but...that would make him depwessed...

Can you really smoke cigarettes in jail in the UK?

The proposed prison smoking ban in England & Wales was overturned by the court of appeal earlier this month (March, 2016).

reply

Thanks. I didn't see that. Smoke on, Tommy!

reply

Don't know what you can and cannot do in UK jails, but in the states if you have the money, you can purchase items to make your cell more "homey". Remember Tommy had at least four women who thought they were engaged to him helping him live a life of comfort.

Was definitely nicer than any of my dorm rooms in College...and I went to a good school!

I have a feeling Orange Is the New Black is more realistic...even the visitors are is WAY too nice in the UK jail. How could it be like that? It looked like a nice middle school's lunch room.
