blue,hanged corpse flashbacks

i really hate these. i feel that they are unnecessary and cheapen the whole, very good, series.
they belong in a bad b movie, not in this.

I'm a big horror fan, well I'm someone constantly trying to find films/TV that could give me a good scare, after years of watching these kinds of things it's very hard to scare me, but this genuinely did. I thought it was great :)

I disagree. The "blue, hanged corpse" is her daughter. She says early on that she was more accustomed to seeing dead bodies than her husband and didn't think seeing her dead daughter affected her much as it did her husband but clearly it did because she is having flashbacks of her daughter. Anyone who has ever seen a deceased loved one, particularly one who died a traumatic death, will not soon shake that image.

of course, and it's understandable. i still think it was badly, cheaply, and generically done.

I agree. Seems like a cheap trick, gratuitous and unnecessary. I've watched the first 5 episodes and might give up. How common are the flashback scenes? Every episode?
