Loose ends I wished were tied up..share yours....

This is why I'm hoping for a third series. Obviously, the Tommy/Ryan issue, the Ryan issue, and if he inherited Tommy's sociopathy (if that's even possible). The Claire/Neil romance (only if it reveals Neil to be some deviant collecting human skulls in his lock up, or growing marijuana on their allotment), Ann's progression in the police force (spinoff) and her relationship with Nevison. The white slavers/drug dealers. Most of all, I want that bastard who was drink driving with the cocaine in his car from the first episode to get nicked for something, or revealed to be involved with the white slavers/drug dealers.

And how did Tommy first meet Frances!? Was moving to town as her sister Tommy's idea, or hers?

reply

I got the impression Frances was one of those women who write to prisoners and that is how they met.

Agree with a lot of the OP's storylines I would like to see more of. I actually wanted to see Kevin's (from series 1) day in court. Really wanted to see his reaction to whatever sentence he received as he was so in denial of his own responsibility in that case. And yeah, I want to see Tommy suffering..badly. :)

Neil collecting human skulls in his lock up??? What did I miss??? I've watched it three times - what are you talking about?!

The op was saying he would like to see more of the Claire/Neil romance, but only if Neil turns out to be some sort of deviant. The human skulls bit was just the op giving an example of what sort of deviant Neil could be.

reply

I would really like to have seen Kevin in court, he was despicable. At least Ashley was honest about himself.

reply

The scenes were cut because of time - read the script on the bbc writersroom and you can read the verdict =)

reply

Due to time restrictions. Kevin's court scenes didn't make the end of series one but you can go on the bbc Writersroom and read the script where you can read the scene and verdict =)

I'd like to see what happened to Doris, how long is her jail sentence.

I apologise, I don't recall Doris.

reply

Doris? Who's Doris?

reply

Frances, the mousy teacher's aid. I was sure her name is Doris. My bad.

I'm willing to bet that the third season will be about human trafficking.

Get on the scale son! Get off the scale.

The BIG question they've never explicitly addressed too date...whether Tommy Lee Royce really raped Becky, or if it was in fact consensual, with Becky regretting it later. Though I guess the ambiguity of the situation has its own charm...but imagine the dramatic possibilities if it were to be revealed that it WAS consensual...

It does seem like Daniel thinks it may have been consensual. Tommy of course claims it was. Even Catherine in the very first episode admits it may well have been...

Despite having just binge watched both seasons on Netflix, I can't remember who said it. But later in Season 2 it was mentioned that Becky was 17 and it would have been statutory rape, even if consensual. Perhaps that's why Catherine sticks to it being rape, despite what her son told her about Becky's "wild ways."

The age of consent for sex here is 16, so if she was 17 at the time then it wouldn't be classed as statutory rape here.

reply

It may of been consensual of course, but as we see him repeatedly rape a captive woman in season 1 I would say that elevates the likelihood over a he said/she said scenario quite dramatically

reply

How about the Richard/Ros storyline? I liked Catherine's ex husband and the complications between them. And how he was beginning to bond with Ryan last season!
