Confused - He's playing Granville -

But he's actually Arkwright. His son has the same back story as Granville, so they do the same old mother was a tart jokes. It's supposed to be a sequel but seems more like a remake.

As Granville became older he has acquired more of his uncle's traits.

Its that man again!!

reply

Exactly - he spent his entire life around his uncle in that shop. It's inevitable that he would come to resemble his one and only role model in all that time, especially now that the business is his.

That's the way life goes: the following generations are doomed to follow in their fathers' footsteps, so to speak. The age differences are confusing if you compare these ongoing characters to how they used to be. Granville has aged more than Nurse Gladys or Mrs. Featherstone. But in reverence and in reference for the original series, we ought to give this new outing a trial.

reply

That's the irony, he's turned out very similair to his uncle. Not the same mind you, he's less buisness obsessed than Arkwright as well as more optimistic and encouraging of his student than Arkwright ever was.

It makes sense really, the young generation often turn out like there predecessors. And the writer enjoys pathos.

but somewhere along the line he has (David Jason lost the original character of his Granville, as a young man even though ppl do change as they get older I remember the original character and somehow he has lost all his original personality which is unrealistic he seems like a combination of his past characters from other shows and more like granville and also I think this is outdated now ....
