Deleted scene

I saw 'The Man of the Crowd' twice. I wasn't planning for the second time, but I did it mainly because I couldn't get it out of my head, and I'm glad I rewatched it. A very good little film that I don't think many people will like (or even see it in the first place).

I'm wondering why they didn't include the whole scene here:

They included a similar scene of the last bit of it without the song or him walking towards the singer. It's really an excellent scene (as a whole) that would add to the film.. him wandering about while listening to this beautiful song and getting packed with emotions. Then when he walks away from the singer, you can tell that he feels (or realizes?) something, you can see it in his eyes. And then comes his half smile; as if it's a result of him processing his feelings. I wish I could understand the lyrics.. I love this kind of scenes, they always get me.
