DVD question

According to Amazon the show is to be released onto DVD this April but will it now have to be edited since the sacking of Tony Blackburn and his lying to the Saville Inquiry and he features in a couple of episodes.

Hold on a cotton pickin' minute.

Just because that was the reason the BBC sacked Blackburn doesn't mean that was the truth of the matter. Blackburn's answers do not tally with the information the BBC have but that doesn't mean for a second that Blackburn is in the wrong. The BBC are famous for cock-ups, losing stuff that doesn't suit them, finding stuff when it does suit them and white-washes to protect the corporation (as are the police and any big monolithic organization such as the Houses of Parliament). If they were any good and worthy of trust they wouldn't have gotten into this whole vile mess in the first place. There is a world of difference between Savile and Blackburn, it just suits the press to lump everyone into the same hole. They conflate things that have no business being together, just ask Paul Gambacinni. There is a lot more to run with Tony Blackburn yet. It wouldn't surprise me if they have a picture on file of every major 70s and 80s star or politician who was ever in the same photograph as Savile, just ready to use to sling some more muck. The truth will out, hopefully.

Got the DVD. Blackburn's scenes still in.

The only edits are for music clearance reasons I believe.

Yeah they cut out 'Max Bygraves' disco effort

reply

Eh?

Nile (as played by Danny John-Jules) Rogers talks about people he worked with before Brian in particular Max Bygraves. Cut to Max performing a disco version of Get Me To the Church On Time from My Fair Lady. I would have said you can look at it on Youtube but it has seemed to been taken down for issues of rights.

And is that the only thing cut?
