Apart from the fake alibi creation, there is really little similarity between the two. Suspect X is a much darker (and in my opinion a superior) story where the math teacher actually commits a second murder to cover up the original one.
Helps if you've seen/ read the original.

shareRather than just depend on hearsay, why don't you go watch suspect X or read the book?? If at all the movie has something to do with Suspect X, it is inspiration.. There is absolutely nothing else connecting the two.. Don't flout on stupidity on the comment boards..
share(spoiler) i haven't read the book or seen suspect X. From wikipedia's plotline, it seems like every crime movie would have the protagonist cover up his crime. I would like to know if the way the crime was covered up, Ex: prior dates' bill and witness' visual mind cheat, - was the same in suspect X ??? Also was the dead one buried under a police station??? If not, crime movies are all the same.
shareThanks for the info.
