Ok if there is a Volcano, it would take less than 5 minutes for the plane to fly away from it. Ok so there are multiple volcanoes. The plane wouldn't take 2 hours to fly through them. The movie should have failed when they brought the idea to the investors. Now I'm curious who these investors are because I have an idea that I want to turn into a movie.

Especially since the military sent in about a dozen planes to try and rescue them. Why didn't anyone think to just fly out of range of the volcanoes? The military plane that rescued them managed to do it at the end.
Dean Cain must've been flying in circles for some reason, instead of just flying in a straight line in any direction to get out.
Not that this makes sense but in the movie they say the autopilot is stuck and its flying in a loop.
