Similar films to WWDITS?

Hi all!

I was hoping whether someone would be kind enough to direct me towards some films of similar comedic style to What We Do In The Shadows? That'd be great!

Thanking you kindly :)

Modern Vampires (1998) is another fantastic vamp parody.

Dale and Tucker vs Evil. Dead Snow 1&2 were more gory but had comedic elements.

This Spinal Tap and Best in Show.

Man Bites Dog is very similar - it's a serial killer the documentary crew is following around.

TV Series Death Valley...although it was cancelled.

It's very similar to, and probably inspired by this:

What We Do in the Shadows is a full length remake of the short film, with the same name, that Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi made in 2005. It is more likely Vampires got its idea from that short film rather than the other way around.

reply

Interesting. Have you seen it?

reply

I have not seen it.

It would have been great to have both films on the Blu Ray.

reply

It's been a few years since I've seen it, but I remember it being fairly similar and kinda funny. Check it out if you get the chance. I think it comes on Sundance sometimes.

reply

I refuse to give the cable industrial monopoly any more money than I have to, so I don't have Sundance Channel available.

Since this film was based on the short film, it would have been a great bonus to have both films on the Blu Ray. I would not know how to watch it otherwise.

reply

Yeah, no idea. It's probably available somewhere online though.

I get Sundance free with some fancy cable package I have. Since they've started adding commercials, I definitely wouldn't pay extra for it.

You might want to check out the virtually uncategorizable nineteenth-century Western cannibal black comedy thriller "Ravenous" with Guy Pierce and Robert Carlyle.

Warm Bodies http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1588173/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 hasn't been mentioned yet. I'm not saying it's exactly the same, first of all it's about zombies and not vampires, but it's satirical and good. Would that be enough?
