What was The Beast's boyfriend?

Along with his complexion, as he's killing Vlad, Vlad says it's forbidden for vampires. Beast's boyfriend says something like "I'm not a vampire" What the hell was he?

Beast's boyfriend doesn't say anything. I rewatched, and as soon as Vlad says it's forbidden for vampires to kill vampires, Stu kills the boyfriend right away.

Essentially, he's just another deformed vampire, like Petyr.

Let's be bad guys.

Yes, thats true, and I thought vampires regenerated and heal immediately. Can a vampire be a zombie too maybe, somehow?!! I guess this poor bastard was horribly burned or scared when he was turned.

I think the point was to have the beasts boyfriend be someone less attractive than Vlad. It plays on the whole, "she dumped me for him?" cliche.

I adore simple pleasures, they are the last refuge of the complex.

I think both the last posts were spot-on

Julian's appearance played into the "uglier subsequent boyfriend," but he also had normal looking hands that were originally covered with what looked like mummy-wraps. So he was likely meant to be in costume.

I also only just noticed Nick's costume - he appeared to be dressed like Blade, technically a vampire but also a vampire hunter. Poor judgment again.

At one point you hear Viago say “ that’s the new guy. I don’t even know what kind of vampire he is, if he is a vampire.“ And then Deacon asks “Did you see his face?”

I kind of take that to mean it’s his real face and not a mask.

Yeah he's definitely just a really ugly vampire.

The TV series doubled down on that notion with Baron Afanas, who was talked up as a great lover only to be revealed as a mummified skeletal Nosferatu who looked worse than Petyr
