The premise is "been there, done that", however, the execution is excellent. It makes the already told story so interesting. This guy is an anti hero. He's full of flaws, but still does the right thing in the end. The weakest part of the show is Larenz Tate, to be honest. His character isn't necessary. Everything else is on point.

Tom Ellis is totally unlikable. I love him in Miranda, but he is awful in this.
Why do I want to waste my time watching an out of control sleazy *beep* like this guy? This show is yucky and sleazy. The medical cases are yucky and boring.
It feels like bunch of ideas cobbled together from 10 other failed shows.

Why you all always trying to put the black man out of work? Everybody else is on the show and they're white. One black friend and you find he's the weakest part of the show, and it's only 4 eps in. Give the black man a chance nah man. Gosh. They went to school together and been friends for ages. Why you want to go and diss him like that? Didn't you find anything wrong with the old flame? Or even his secretary, she's pretty but she ain't all that? Don't you find her a weak link? Gosh I know it's not always about race, but I hate when there's a show on, new or not, and the only person somebody or bodies don't like is the one lone black guy. In his defense I love Larentz Tate, who seems ageless by the way, and I hope he stays on.

The ability to always see the worst in people and situations is often a hiding place for fear.

I think it probably will go for a second season. I'm not a big fan though. Currently I'm at the fifth episode and the formula is getting a bit too much like a lame blend of House, nip tuck and any other you can think of. Also what tiresome is, the constant repeat when things are a bit to hard 'Call an ambulance' 'No, no ambulance' 'I have a guy blablabla'

Anyways, this thing probably will work but not for me :)

edit: just saw the seventh and eight, not impressed at all.
