Drug used in latest episode?

What is the drug that Rush uses in this episode, the one the rock star talks him into drinking.

I came here to find out too. I want to know so I never go near it.

reply

I was curious about they myself,

reply

No clue, but does anyone know who is playing the rock star? He looks familiar but he's not on the cast list page and it's driving me crazy!!

reply

It's Pope from Falling Skies.

reply

Yes! Thank you! Hard to tell with his short hair!

reply

he was on hell on wheels too lol

Ayahuasca. Usually done with a shaman in a controlled environment. Usually there is a purge which includes throwing up literally but also metaphorically throwing up all negatively in your life before the journey of life changing experience during the journey begins

**before not during.

My question was which part was reality and which part was the trip. Was the hospital scene and being asked for the urine test part of the trip or did none of it actually happen and was it merely an example of him performing numerous of surgeries etc under the influence. Also, the last scene when he punches the rockstar and tells him his last album sucked. Was that a lie and pay back for putting him thru a truth he wasn't ready to face or merely the way he truly felt. Which points were reality and which were apart of the trip. Or was it all apart of the trip is my question

reply

The surgery scenes were a flashback showing us how he lost his job. None of that was real. He hit the rock singer because he gave him that drug and didn't tell him how hallucinogenic it was.

reply

It happened in real life and he relived it during the trip.

reply

It's dimethyltryptamine.

reply

Yes, in the form of ayahuasca.

I scanned that wiki article and I didn't see any medical use for that drug. So it's similar to LSD? Rush knew what it was, why did he take it in the first place?

um, i'm just guessin' here, but could it be..... because he's a druggie?

I wasn't going to do anything today - so far I'm right on schedule!

reply

Yeah, but he was pissssed off at the end.

You basically don't give someone a hallucinogen that they've never taken before and then bail. Had the guy not left, he probably would have stopped Rush from consuming as much of the tea as he did. Considering the guy didn't end up going anywhere, it was kind of a dick move. So Rush punched him for being a dick.

It doesn't seem to have any current specific medical uses, although there's the possible use as a neurotransmitter. It seems mainly used in scientific research. The type naturally occurring in plants isn't restricted as a schedule I drug (limited to scientific research & medical use) but Rush doesn't seem to care whether the drugs he takes have a medical use as he rarely takes them for any symptoms they can be helpful for or at the recommended dosage.

reply

Dimethyltryptamine. Rush flubbed the last half of the name, that might be why you couldn't catch it.

reply

Di-methal triptaline also known as dmt.

reply

I call it "nasty, don't mess with that sh*t" sh*t.
