ANOTHER AMITY IN THE WALL!!!

Amity has confused me. In the books the Amity faction lives outside the wall on farms. I believe the Amity faction living outside the wall is mentioned in the two movies. At the close of Insurgent and, at the start of Allegiant, though, it shows Amity members running TOWARDS the wall trying to get out.

What gives?

BOO-BOO TIME: I was wrong. The exact location of the Amity farms is never revealed in the movies so it is plausible the fence surrounded not only the city but the outlying areas, the Amity farmlands included!

We're all just as confused as you.

Maybe this was another side (like the Amity faction would be North, they way Tris & co. go is South). But idk. At least I enjoy these movies

The filmmakers realized too late that the book's logic made no sense to have one of the factions be on the other side of the fence if they're actually supposed to be trapped. They then decided to bank on the probability of the audience being too stupid to remember that the first movie did show them on the outside of the fence and changed it in the sequels to have everyone isolated on the inside.

They did live outside "the fence". The wall was surrounding the city.

MORE BOO-BOOS: I just saw the Divergent movie and when the Dauntless initiates visit the wall it is clearly stated that the Amity faction lives outside the wall. At least I got that straight!!!
