shareI think all of the YA genre is bad besides The Hunger Games but hey at least we have hope with a new YA film called Ready Player One except this is going to be directed by Steven FREAKING Spielburg!!
shareThats a tough question. The problem with both these movies is that they're based on series that had great first books but the second and third books were s**t. There's just no where to go after the premise is set

Actually I liked the seconc book better then the first but the third was horrible...Maze Runner series second book was worst then first The third was even worst then that ...and the "prequel" made me so angry I wasted my time...IMHO

Divergent is PRETTY GARBAGE, so yep it's the worst one!
The Maze Runner is an enjoyable thrill ride, even the 2nd movie was a let down. I really don't understand the hate it got, at least it ways more entertaining than how POS about Divergent was.

The first in all 3 (Hunger/Divergent/Maze) are all pretty decent.
So far, the Maze Runner series is 2 for 2, good flicks. The other 2 series ran out of gas.

It's the same with all these YA movies triliogies. They open strong and become weak pretty fast.
I think the Maze Runner opened strongest though. The weakest of all these series was Twilight ofc with screwing up all set standards for werewolves and vampires.
This divergent series had potential, that never really came out. You are waiting for something bigger, but you get conspiracy on top of conspiracy on top of conspiracies.. It gets tiring.
The Maze Runner movies are better made in quality than Divergent. TMZ movies are able to do alot more with such low budgets, the second movie has been the most expensive out of the series costing $60 million and yet it had much better special fx than the Divergent movies that cost $100 million plus.

The first one was one of the best movies of the year for me. Truthfully, it owed a lot to the book, but still.... a faithful representation.
My ratings are not always like the IMDB average score because I only enjoy intelligent movies.
I am not a YA and have never read these books. Based on thr movies, Divergent was interesting and I enjoyed it. Insurgent was boring and the premise and plot started to get convoluted and I never bothered with Allegiant.
Maze Runner from the beginning I couldn't get into.

What exactly couldn't you get into? What made you uncomfortable?
